Question: Book from 1970s - pilot fakes own shooting down in Vietnam then uses aircraft to hijack airliner

Pilot fakes his own shooting down in Vietnam then steals the secret
aircraft to eventually use to hijack an airliner. His accomplice on the
ground collects the ransom money then makes a getaway and once away free
the pilot ditches his aircraft then has to get back to Vietnam to the area
he was supposedly shot down so he can be captured to establish his alibi
