i am not sure of the title author or time it was made, i only know
fragments of the story. It starts out talking about how the father is
over seas, dosnt go into detail, the little girl is watching her little
brother as her mother is doing something and playing the trumpet for him,
as shes doing so goblins come in and kidnap him and replace him with a
block of ice, later the ice melts and she realizes he is gone, so she puts
on a large yellow raincoat and puts her trumpet in the pocket and sets out
to find him, she flies over streams and such describeing what she sees, and
eventualy finds the goblins, i think their in eggs , she plays the trumpet
for them and they start dancing, she plays until thier so tired they fall
asleep and she takes her baby brother back home. thats the end, and as much
as i can remember.

I have been looking for this book for twelve years, i am starting to lose
hope, someone please tell me you know what it is called and who made it,
you will be a godsend to me.

This sounds just like "Outside Over There" by Maurice Sendak, except the
baby sister is kidnapped by the goblins who want her for a bride.

Thank you so much, i am so happy to finally know the title of this book!
This is the book my mother used to read to me when i was little and i
loved it, and after i had grown and wished to find it once more to keep
somewhere safe i couldn't find it, and when i described the story to
others (many many others) no one knew. So thank you so very very much,
this has made me happier then you can imagine.
