Question: Book about young boy who's father is murdered

I'm looking for a book I read a year or two ago.  It's about a young boy
who lives on a ranch with his parents.  I remember he and his father
walking the fence.  They raise a certain kind of dog which was passed down
by his grandfather.  His father is estranged from his brother who comes to
visit and ends up staying.  The once-estranged brother falls in love with
his brother's wife and soon after the husband dies.  He suspects murder but
doesn't know what to do.  The son runs away with a few of the dogs and
after a while he returns.  He accuses his uncle and his uncle tries to
murder him, a fire erupts in the place where they keep the dogs.  I know
the uncle is killed and the son lives.
