I am looking for a set of Children's classics there was I believe a set of
10 volumes of children's short stories, and several classics including
Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Heidi, Black Beauty, Treasure Island,
Kidnapped, Arabian nights, Alice in Wonderland and Through The looking
glass. These books were beautifully Illustrated in full color plates.
Maroon Bound (Leather Look), And lettered in gold with embossed covers. If
anyone can help me find out the publisher, and or a set..I would be
grateful.
Thanks
Ken

I'm not sure if it has color plates, but it does have black and white
illustrations. Does this look familiar?

also Avenel Books.
They're reddish brown covers, gold colored lettering. I don't know if there are any others, you'd have to do a search.

Hello,
Are you still looking for this set? I just happened to want to sell some that were my childhood books. They are with my parents who want me to take them off their hands.
Thanks,
Gina
